The Dark Knight News

May 29, 2008 at 1:48 pm (Movies)

Possibly the movie I’m most anticipating this summer is The Dark Knight, the tale of Batman battling both the creepy new villain in town, the Joker, and having to watch the cruel demise of his friend Harvey Dent who’s running for district attorney. Recently I posted some concept art of what Harvey Dent’s villainous persona two-face. Along with these multiple story arcs coming into an already-complicated universe like Batman’s, one wonders-“How’s it all gonna work?” Well I was browsing through IMDB and came across the following information:

  • There will be no back story for the Joker set up in the movie, the opening scene is rumored to be the robbery of the Gotham National Bank by the Joker and his henchmen.
  • Anthony Micheal Hall from “The Dead Zone” will be playing a reporter in the movie, some believe he manifests as the Riddler in the sequel to Dark Knight.
  • Harley Quinn is rumored to have a brief appearance in the movie.
  • Harvey Dent is rumored to have his transformation into Two Face during the very end of the movie, setting him up for the sequel.
  • Micheal Caine, Gary Oldman, and Christian Bale have signed on for a third movie.
  • The movie has been rated PG-13 for intense action sequences and menace
  • The movie is rumored to be 152 minutes long

Dwight vs. Megatron

May 29, 2008 at 12:49 pm (Movies)

(Insert Fart Joke Here)

Rainn Wilson, also known as Dwight K. Shrute on The Office has been cast in the new sequel to Transformers, Transformers ….. 2. Wilson is scheduled to cameo as a college professor to Sam Witwicky, who is now in college. All of the other cast has signed on to reprise their roles in the sequel, filiming began this month. The exact storyline is not yet known exactly, however interest has been shown in a back-story, while exploring more of the sci-fi elements. Micheal Bay was also wanting to incorporate the dinobots and constructocons, also having an aircraft carrier as part of the storyline. The writers are also trying to balance out the human and transformer storyline, making them even. Are they sure Monk isn’t in the movie? That would be awesome. Micheal Bay has also scouted out several filming locations, including Egypt, several colleges, some steel sites in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, several museums, Washington DC, and Jordan. The success of the first movie opened the gate for many financial possibilities in the sequel, I’ll definitely be in line when the movie launches hopefully on its scheduled release day of June 26th of next year.

Preview-In Plain Sight

May 29, 2008 at 9:18 am (Television)

It’s no secret that I usually enjoy the shows on USA Network, make that any NBC network. Except Sci-Fi. Anyway, some of my favorite shows air on USA, including Psych and Monk. So it’s no wonder I’m getting a little excited for USA’s newest series, In Plain Sight. The show follows Mary Shannon and her partner Marshall, two agents in the witness protection program. Mary has to take people from their normal lives out of harm’s way and into newer, safer lives, all while dealing with her own complicated ordeals. The show definitely doesn’t look like more of a comedic show, but it looks sorta compelling, and I’m definitely going to give it a try. The show premieres this Sunday night on USA Network at 9:00 PM Central Time.

Can He Do Whatever A Spider Can?

May 29, 2008 at 8:26 am (Movies)

The next three installments in the Spiderman series have been some of the most shaky for our favorite web-slinger. Sony has confirmed three more sequels for the series, however the cast is not so sure. Sam Raimi is unsure if he’ll return to direct, and cast members like Toby Macquire and Kirsten Dunst aren’t sure. A script negotiation was starting, but eventually fell through. At least Jonah Jameson himself JK Simmons has confirmed he’ll show up in the new movies. Some have wondered that if Toby Macquire didn’t show up, who would take his place. Interest has been shown in Patrick Fugit (pictured above) and Micheal Angarano. What do you think? Would you go see Spiderman 4 if it was without Toby, Kirsten, and Sam Raimi? Let me know what you think.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith Song-list

May 28, 2008 at 1:07 pm (Video Games)

The first of the Guitar Hero 3 expansions, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, is due in stores in about a month, June 29th to be exact, however the song-list, or most of it, has been revealed. It is said the game won’t entirely consist of Aerosmith, but about 60% Aerosmith, 40% Bands that were somehow affiliated with Aerosmith. You’ll play as an opening act with a non-Aerosmith song first, then move on with Aerosmith into their gig. The game will feature the full 30 years of history behind Aerosmith, however will not chronicle the struggle of the band. From the first gig at a high school to playing at the Superbowl, this game is entirely devoted to Aerosmith. Here’s the song-list (If the song doesn’t have a band out beside it, it’s Aerosmith).

  • All the Young Dudes-Mott the Hopple
  • Dream Police-Cheap Trick
  • Make It
  • Uncle Salty
  • Draw the Line
  • I Hate Myself For Loving You-Joan Jett
  • All Day and All of Our Night-The Kinks
  • Movin Out
  • No Surprize
  • Sweet Emotion
  • Complete Control-The Clash
  • Personality Crisis-New York Dolls
  • Livin on the Edge
  • Rag Doll
  • Love in An Elevator
  • Always on the Run-Lenny Kravitz
  • Hard to Handle-The Black Crowes
  • Back in the Saddle
  • Beyond Beautiful

First Look-Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party

May 28, 2008 at 12:50 pm (Video, Video Games)

It’s been about 1 1/2 years since not only the launch of the Wii, but the launch of one of it’s great third party games, Rayman Raving Rabbids, which used some great motion sensing capabilities to provide for a fun time. Last year Ubisoft provided the second installment, which was also a solid game, but now they are moving on from the Wiimote to the Wii Balance Board, previously released along side Wii Fit. This time the rabbids have taken over a tv station, with Rayman taking more of a cameo role. The rabbids will be taking over classic tv shows and giving them their own twist, giving way for minigames like Dancing with the Dweebs. There’s even supposed to be a game where you use your butt to steer a wildebeest you’re riding down a snowy hill. Don’t ask. The game is scheduled for release this Christmas on the Wii and Nintendo DS. I actually might/might not get this one, considering I’m not sure if I wanna buy Wii Fit just for the board. If it gets great reviews, I might give it a try.

Heroes and Psych Season 3 Episodes Named

May 26, 2008 at 8:31 pm (Television)

TV.com only grows more in more in my regard. They have the titles for the next few episodes of Heroes besides the premiere and clip show. The next few episodes are scheduled to be titled as:

  • Dreamtime
  • One of Us, One of Them
  • The Year of Our Lord
The titles only excite me more for the upcoming season scheduled to premiere September 22nd. The episode “The Year of Our Lord” is especially tantalizing in that it kinda makes me think of Adam Monroe, being that he was in a way a leader to Daniel Linderman and other disciples. Dreamtime makes me think of Maury Linderman, and One of Us, One of Them is up in the air at the moment. I have been without Heroes for 6 months, don’t judge me.
The season premiere for Psych and later episodes have also been named:
  • Murder…Anyone….Anyone?…
  • Ghosts
  • Disco Didn’t Die
  • Daredevils!!
  • The Greatest Adventure..
No Monk episodes have been named yet from this site, if any do in the future of Monk, Psych, Heroes, or anything else remotely interesting, I’ll post them.

Harvey Dent/Two Face Revealed

May 25, 2008 at 6:39 am (Movies)

Below is a link to a jpeg of what Harvey Dent is rumored to look like in his villain form after a tragic “face-schmelting” (Austin Powers Joke) accident. As you can see above the Two-Face from Batman Forever was a little…More flamboyant, portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones. Dent is believed to make the transition to this beast in the movie during a scene showed in the trailer where he is face-down in a pool of what I thought was liquor, but is believed to be some sort of acid or easily flammable liquid (As seen above). According to Wikipedia-

“In the film, Dent becomes a murderous vigilante — rather than an outright criminal — following his disfigurement, and director Christopher Nolan explained this was done to emphasize the differences and parallels between him and Batman.”

I warn you, the image below is very graphic, too graphic for me considering the first time I saw it I exited out of all my windows scared to death. I am starting to wonder if this movie could be too intense for younger children. So click on the link below, if you dare. I personally might get sick during the movie. Or run out screaming.

Is Sylar Killing Production Assistants?

May 24, 2008 at 2:41 pm (Television)

According to TV.com, the third season premiere of Heroes, which was scheduled to air September 15 has now been pushed off until September 22. The premiere will consist of an HOUR LONG clip show: 7-8 PM, however in good news the premiere will be two hours long 8-10 PM. It sounds to me like NBC is really hyping it up, dedicating the entire night to Heroes. Which they should be, it will be awesome. For sure. The following Thursday will be the glorified return of My Name is Earl and The Office hour long premieres at their usual time spots, with the next monday reuniting Heroes and Chuck again. In other lineup news-

  •  Friday, September 12th-America’s Toughest Jobs
  • Monday, September 22nd-Heroes
  • Tuesday, September 23rd-Law and Order SVU
  • Wednesday, September 24th-Knight Rider and Lipstick Jungle
  • Thursday, September 25th-My Name is Earl, The Office, ER
  • Monday, September 29th-Chuck, My Own Worst Enemy

At Least He’s Symmetrical…

May 24, 2008 at 2:20 pm (Television)

On April 8th, a little more than a month ago, Stanley Kamel, also known as Dr. Kroger from Monk passed away from a sudden and severe heart attack at his home. It was confirmed that the show would return for a 7th Season, even though one of the most reliable characters was gone and even Tony Shalhoub was unsure if he would return. One question that was raised was “Who’s Gonna Take Dr. K’s Place?” The answer has now been answered. Hector Elizondo, who has appeared in movies like Chicago Hope and done voice acting in shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender will become Adrian’s new psychiatrist in July.
