IGN has posted a page for the sequel to one of, if not my favorite Summer movie ever, Iron Man. The page doesn’t say much (of course, the first one hasn’t been out for 2 weeks), but it does say that the movie will be released on a April 30, 2010 release date. Numerous ideas have floated around for a sequel, including delving into Tony Stark’s alcoholism and other problems, or possibly Rhodes taking over the suit for a little while, which was hinted at the end of Iron Man, which leads to War Machine. Yeah, this has already been planned as a trilogy. (Though the third one may be the avengers movie)

    What I mean is:

I think they were originally planning a trilogy, but wikipeida says:

The director considers The Avengers as the third film; “It’s very difficult to keep these franchises from running out of gas after two [movies]. The high point seems to be the second one, judging by history: If you just look at the consensus in the reviews, you see that X-Men 2 and Spider-Man 2 are sort of seen by the fans as the sort of high point of both franchises… But to be able to fold it into an Avengers is something you just couldn’t do in another studio, and I think what Marvel is about is stuff you can’t do at a bigger studio.”

So the avengers film will be like the third iron man movie. In a sense.

That just doesn’t make sense to me because you can’t call the Justice League movie a sequel to Batman, it’s a movie series all in itself.
