Pirates 4 Rumors Surface and Batman 3 Rumors Debunked

Well, it’s Fall, which means sequels sequels, and more sequels, at least, that is, sequel news. Recently within the past few weeks the folks over at Disney confirmed a fourth Pirates movie, and it the rumors have officially begun to swirl. Word is that the new Pirates film will start a new trilogy, in which Jack Sparrow sets out to find the Fountain of Youth. It’s also rumored that they will introduce Jack’s brother, rumored to be portrayed by Sasha Baron Cohen or Russell Brand. Both Geoffrey Rush and Gore Verbinski are scheduled to come in again, however it has also been rumored that Tim Burton will be the one to direct. I personally think this is a horrible decision. However, it would be interesting.

In regard to the rumors for the sequel to The Dark Knight, one of the crew members for TDK has stated that all of the rumors regarding the third movie are total bunk. He says that Nolan has not signed on, they have had few talks of the third film, and have no confirmations.

I was excited about the fourth Pirate movie when it came out of Johnny Depp’s mouth.

    What’s that supposed to mean?

I wasn’t too excited when they first confirmed it, but now I’m starting to get a lot more excited with these rumors. I loved the other three, hopefully this one will be no different.

I like the idea of Cohen or Brand being Depp’s brother, especially Brand, but the idea of Burton directing just seems like a bad idea. He’s not an action guy.

I just hope that the new one does not feel so slow.

That was my only complaint with the pirates movies….they just go on and on.

They’re epic movies. I never really felt like they were slow, but I could see how you would feel that way.

I’m kinda sad about the Batman thing. Kinda excited and kinda not for the Pirates one. I don’t want Tim Burton messing it up. I want the real Pirates director!

  6. earlman27 said,

Exactly. Tim Burton would make it too whimsical and it wouldn’t fit the feel of the others. Bruckheimer knows action.

  7. nolanator said,

Gore Verbinski needs to return the direct.
