Casino Royale Review

The name’s Royale… Casino Royale… and it has caused me to add another movie series to my list of must sees. There are approximately 20 Bond films, each of them conquering some different terrorist threat, some different supermodel, and a lot of the times a different Bond. I was very hesitant to this movie, as I’ve never seen a Bond film all the way through, however I was interested in seeing Daniel Craig’s take before Quantum of Solace was released in theaters. The movie takes place before any of the other Bond films, just as Bond is receiving “Double O” status. A terrorist group known as Quantum is sending different people to blow different stuff up, all I know is that it’s a bomb-making group. James Bond is sent to win their money (approximately $150 Million) in a game of Casino Royale and thwart their plans. I just gotta say, Daniel Craig is great in this film. He pulls off the demeanor, the suave actions of Bond perfectly, and as far as I’m concerned did better than anyone I’ve seen portray Bond. The movie kinda strays away from the standard action film and can actually be very intense in some portions. The action scenes are quick and intense, will leave you breathless, while also leaving you wanting more. The story has a nice pull to it, as Bond woos an agent known as Vesper Lynd, but things get awfully complicated awfully fast with her. Long story short, she’s going to be a big motivation in the next film. The movie provided that classic Bond atmosphere while taking the franchise to a new, fresher level, doing something new with the franchise. I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would. You’ve got your fast paced action, cool cars, beautiful women, and snappy remarks you’d come to expect from any Bond adventure, just with a new coat of paint. The only real problem I saw was that when this movie is an action movie, it’s an action movie. When it starts to go towards the romance, it’s a romance. The tone shifts a lot in this movie, from the intense torture scene to Bond and Lynd sailing through Italy. Overall, if you enjoy fun action movies, Casino Royale is a great movie to watch. If you’ve never got into the Bond movies, this is a great place to start. I really loved this movie, and hope that if you’re interested, you’ll give this great movie a chance.

After the 500th James Bond I just don’t care anymore. Never seen this movie and probably not gonna too.

This is the 21st. I’ve never seen any of the others. I never really cared for them, I thought the same thing you did. However, even though a lot of them go through the same thing, plus the ones before this were kinda cheesy (which is why I never got into them), this one is really fresh, and it’s a prequel. You don’t have to have seen any Bond film, and it’s so much fun to watch. I loved it, and I’m gonna start going to see all of the new ones.

As long as they have Daniel Craig I’ll watch them.
